Board of Specified Jurisdiction
Divine Providence Catholic School has adopted a Board of Specified Jurisdiction (BSJ) for its school governance. A BSJ utilizes the expertise of the laity in our Catholic school while recognizing that the school’s viability and long-term vitality depend on the school’s support in the community. A BSJ has authority for decision-making for the school in specified areas including the areas of Ministry Effectiveness, Planning and Policy, Fiscal Management (Finance and Facilities), and Institutional Advancement (marketing and recruitment).
The BSJ is empowered to cooperate and collaborate with the Principal and the Pastor to support the work of administering and leading the school. The BSJ uses a consensus model of decision-making and the work of preparing for decisions is done in committees that correspond with the previously identified areas of responsibility.
